Child Care and Preschool Education at home 

Playschool Education’s Programme Co-ordinator’s, alongside of the Educator, plan and implement Learning and Development strands and goals following Te Whariki, the Early Childhood Curriculum in New Zealand. Te Whariki provides a framework to guide children’s learning. Te Whariki is founded on the following aspirations for children: “To grow up as confident learners and communicators, healthy in mind, body and spirit, secure in the sense of belonging and in the knowledge that they make a valued contribution to society”

Our programme is unique and personalised and will provide your child with an education programme that meets their individual needs and requirements.

Playschool is licensed by the Ministry of Education and audited by the Education Review Office (ERO) ensuring that the programme your child receives is of a high standard and meets their educational needs.

Because Playschool is a totally FREE service including all the resources we provide for you as a parent you can now ensure your child gets the best educational support without the financial strain on your family.

Playschool offers non income tested subsidies to every child of up to $4.20 per hour, that’s right every child regardless of your financial position can receive a Playschool subsidy. As we are also WINZ and OSCAR approved, we may also be able to access government funding to assist you to pay for your home based childcare.

*We plan to expand to cover all other areas by late 2017 to early 2018.

  • Fun and exciting monthly activities delivered to you each month- examples are T-shirt painting, bead threading, canvas painting.
  • Free use of an exciting toy and puzzle library.
  • Our exclusive activity pass with the option of a free annual Zoo or Motat pass or subsidized swimming or gym lessons.
  • Free use of child book and adult reference library.
  • Each family provided with a fun art pack which is topped up when needed
    or for the under 1 year olds a sensory pack loaded with sensory experiences
    and learning toys.
  • Portfolio provided to record your child’s progress.
  • Regular and exciting organised activities for Educators and Families including the much awaited Christmas party.
  • Regular structured activities.
  • Training and development opportunities offered to Educators and Families to ensure they are kept up to date on current childcare practices. Course examples are preparing your 4 year old for school, dealing with tantrums and toilet training. These are provided in house or by a range of guest speakers such as parent coaches and authors.
  • Free Pediatric First Aid Courses for the Educator.
  • Strong support network for Families and Educators alike.
